Mathaino is a daily‑problem puzzle app. We designed it to require as little information about you as possible. This page describes exactly what data the app and its servers handle, why, and your choices.
To keep automated bots from scraping our daily puzzle catalog, the app generates a short‑lived device‑attestation token using Apple's DeviceCheck framework, exchanged via Firebase App Check. This token confirms the request came from a real iOS device running an authentic copy of Mathaino. The token is one‑way (we cannot use it to identify your device) and is rotated frequently by Apple.
If you tap the flag icon on a problem and submit feedback (e.g., "the answer key is wrong"), we store: the problem date, the subject, the reason category you selected, and any optional text you typed. We do not store any identifier that links the report to you or your device. We use this only to fix bugs in problems.
If the app crashes, Apple's standard crash reporting may share a crash log with us via App Store Connect only if you opted in at iOS setup ("Share with App Developers"). Crash logs contain stack traces but no personal data and no problem content.
Our Firebase Firestore backend logs the IP address and request metadata of each problem‑fetch request, as a normal part of operating a server. Firebase retains these logs for a short period and we do not export them. We never associate them with anything else.
Your streak, your archive of past problems, which hints you revealed, and whether you got each problem right are stored only on your iPhone in Apple's standard on‑device database (SwiftData). None of that information leaves your device. If you delete the app, it is permanently gone. We cannot recover it.
None.
Mathaino is rated 4+ and is targeted at college graduates. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children.
Because Mathaino does not collect personal data, there is nothing tied to you that we could export, correct, or delete on request. If you believe we have somehow received personal data about you, contact us at the address below and we will investigate.
If we change what data the app handles, we will update this page and increment the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be summarized in an in‑app notice.
